A. ’ is out Psytrance above all Psychedelic Musical Superiority By Chemical Over the past few years a seemingly never-ending debate about music has been present among the members of our community. The dispute usually derives from a disagreement concerning our treatment of musical styles outside of our own personal taste, and more importantly, our attitude towards the opinion and taste of others that deviates from our own. First of all, what do we consider psychedelic? Do we make distinctions between musical genres according to their „psychedelicness? † How do we treat different subgenres? How do we approach electronic musical styles other than trance that have ome psychedelic quality? Are they – in a way – subordinate to trance? Does some kind of hierarchy exist according to the assumed „psychedelicness† of genres? Is it possible that a paradoxical situation, a kind of musical superiority has evolved despite these basic concepts that permeates the ideological back ground of the psychedelic community? What aspect of music throws you into a trance-like state of mind is up to you and your own personal taste.It can be the fast, repetitive drums of darkpsy, the frisky, vivid sound effects of full on, the deep, perpetual soundscapes of psybient or even the slow, deep pulsation of progressive psy. You are even likely to attach a psychedelic quality to any other kind of musical genre – even to some that are not included in a line up like that of O. Z. O. R. A. We could even consider the possibility that the listener has an active role in the process, that the „psychedelicness† of music (at least partly) depends on him/her, and it is not necessarily involved or defined by the sounds music is built up of.This seems to be the reason why it is such a subjective observation, and th at is why the notion of psychedelic electronic music varies so significantly from person to person. He spent the whole week at the Valley during the Festival, so he has a clear and extensive picture of the 2012 happenings. In his objective report, very wisely and objectively, he talks about the ‘loss of O.Z. O. R. A. ‘s virginity'. He starts his article saying: „The name Ozora stood for a living anarchy in terms of psychedelic substances and a police-free zone since 1999. Jeremy’s First Day Essay

Jeremy was very excited.   His eyes popped open even before his alarm clock rang. He had been waiting for this day all summer.   It was his first day at his new school.   Jeremy’s mom promised him that this school was going to be even more fun then the one he went to when they lived in his old house before they moved to this town. Jeremy jumped out of bed and quickly got dressed in the outfit had had picked out especially for his first day. He combed his hair and brushed his teeth like his dad told him he should do every morning. Jeremy’s parents were just sitting down to breakfast and were very surprised went he walked into the room. â€Å"My, you sure got ready awfully quickly† said Jeremy’s mother. â€Å"Are you all ready for school?† asked Jeremy’s dad. Then he added, â€Å"Do you think a pancake would help?† Jeremy smiled, â€Å"It sure would!† After they ate Jeremy’s mother looked at her watch and sprung from her chair â€Å"Where did the time go?   We’re going to be late!† They ran to the car and waved good-bye to Jeremy’s dad who reminded him to be good. Jeremy’s mother drove quickly and they got to school just in time.   Jeremy hugged and kissed her good bye and she too reminded him to be good. As he walked into the building, he heard his mom tell him to â€Å"knock their socks off!† Jeremy got to his classroom just as the bell rang and found a seat in the very middle.   All of the other second graders looked at him in wonder.   His dad had told him to expect this.   Jeremy was the new kid.   People would look at him because they didn’t know him and they would be curious about what he was like.   They might want to know about where he was from and what kinds of things he liked to do.   His mom said it might feel funny to be looked at like an animal in a zoo, but that they didn’t mean any harm, and as soon as they were used to him, they would all be friends. The teacher stepped in front of the class and wished them a good morning.   She wrote her name on the board and began to call out the children’s names. â€Å"Anna Abbott?† â€Å"Here† â€Å"Nicholas Baca?† â€Å"Here.† â€Å"Jeremy Dennis?† â€Å"Here.† Everyone got quiet and looked at Jeremy very hard.   Then suddenly a girl in the front row said, â€Å"You’re not a boy!† â€Å"How come he’s wearing a dress?† asked the boy sitting next to Jeremy.   Then everyone began to talk excitedly.   They all wanted to know if Jeremy was a boy then why he was wearing a dress. Jeremy was confused.   No one had ever asked him about his clothes before.   Other students in the class were wearing dresses and no one seemed to notice. The teacher quieted the class and turned to Jeremy. â€Å"Are you Jeremy Dennis?† â€Å"Yes, I am† said Jeremy. â€Å"Welcome to class Jeremy.†Ã‚   She then went back to calling the role. The first day was a very long one.   At recess, everyone wanted to know about Jeremy’s old town and school, but mostly they wanted to know why he was wearing a dress.   Some of the students were very nice and some were not.   Some of them asked questions about what kinds of games Jeremy liked to play and were excited to have him on their soccer team because Jeremy was very good.   Some said mean things to him about his clothes.   Jeremy wondered if their parents had told them to be good this morning too. By the end of the day, Jeremy had learned that even though the school didn’t have any rules about clothes, boys at this school only wore shorts and pants, but girls were allowed to wear anything they wanted.   This seemed unfair to Jeremy. At dinner, he explained to his parents the funny rules the children at this school followed.   Jeremy’s mother sighed and told him that everyone one and everywhere is different and he just had to decide which rules he wanted to follow. That night, as he went to sleep, Jeremy knew exactly what he was going to wear the next day. What is the difference between a boy a girl? Why do the boys not wear dresses? Are their rules that you follow that are not written down? How do you learn about these rules. Who decides these rules? How do you know if these rules are fair? Other topics to address would be sayings like â€Å"where did the time go?† and what it means to â€Å"be good.†

It does not come as a surprise that many perceived Gorbachev was moving blind in his pursuit of reforms. Gorbachev literally grew up inside the sluggish Soviet system, thus he knew which components were hindering them from achieving good economic standing (Mcnair et al. 2005: p. 1). The West perceived him as a liberator and progressive leader with his foreign and domestic policies such as the Perestroika, which means restructuring or rebuilding, and the Glasnost which is literally translated as openness. These reforms were meant to remedy the economic deficiency of Russia and adapt better practices in the hope of making Russia a globally competitive economy. These p olicies, especially the Perestroika, received the spotlight since the USSR standard of living drastically collapsed together with the economy under his rule, and ultimately it also lead to the dissolution of the USSR. Perestroika is widely believed and argued to be also the main cause of the revolution of Eastern Europe in 1989 and also it contributed to the end of the Cold War (Heauel & Cohen 2009: p. 1). In the aftermath of these events, it is relevant to consider how Gorbachev has come up with such policies and aggressive reforms. Relevant also would be how he devised and schemed the plans to go, and how the plans later on faltered and backfired to Mother Russia despite all the good intentions and virtues that it bannered. The status quo before he came into power should also be put into consideration and also the consequences of the demise and how much should really be the attributed blame to his blunder. The policies of his predecessors, like Khruschchev, where the early stages of Perestroika was likened to his reforms during the 1950s and sixties (Tompson 1993: p. 73), should also be understood. This is necessary so as to learn how he then came to be with his political orientation and of what external factors are at play in influencing and engineering such policies. SHAPING A REFORMIST Before delving deeper into Gorbachev’s policies and reforms, one must first try to understand where he is coming from and how he came to be in power. His early life shaped how he came to be an aggressive reformist who later on became one of the most influential political figures in the XX century. Gorbachev was born into a mixed Russian-Ukrainian family on March 2, 1931 (Ikeda & Gorbachev 2005: p. 11). Early in his childhood, he experienced the Soviet famine of 1932-1933 which claimed the lives of his two sisters (Gorbachev 2006: p. 10). His family started off as poor landless peasants but later on rose to become middle-class farmers because of the Soviet collectiviz ation (Mcnair et al. 2005: p. 1). He recalls that â€Å"The peasant labor was very hard. It was back-breaking labor twenty hours a day, with no more than three or four hours of sleep. Yet it did not bring prosperity to the farmers.
